Flipboard: The Social Magazine App Reviews

I use Flipboard as my sole source for daily news by training the app on which stories I like and which ones I dont.

So I really like Flipboard. Occasionally the pop ups on some web pages make it buggy but for the most part its perfect.

This app completely changed how I consume the news. Subscribing to other users magazines could be the best part because they spend an incredible amount of time curating the content. Probably more than my local paper who defaults to AP as filler.

This has been an excellent app to follow news and events with my selected categories. Ive come across information that i would not find just searching the web. Great app.

Whatever you live, its got you covered

I admit to having initial skepticism with this service. One of the more positive aspects I had long grown accustomed to in daily reading of the NYT was the intangible factor of "discovery" I.e. the serendipitous discovery of an article on a topic that may have held little or no prior interest for me but after reading I became better informed and grateful to the editorial staff for choosing to include it in the paper. If I chose to be fed only those topics in which I currently have interest, my knowledge base becomes vertical without any horizontal broadening of my knowledge. That didnt sound good to me. Flipboard seems to be able to accommodate both an increase in my vertical knowledge about topics of self-stated interest while still inserting that occasional serendipitous find. Well done.

Really enjoy the ability to tailor it to my particular tastes. Simple and easy to use.

This is the cream of the crap. The best news App was Zite, Flipboard is better than all of the others right now but has a terrible/sloppy user interface. News 360 is decent. I keep looking for better news Apps but none exist. A smart developer would copy Zite and revive its functionality --- I would be all over that and dump Flipboard in a heart beat.

This is a great news/information apt. I use practically every day.

I enjoy the various articles. I have a choice whether keep it or delete it.

If you gave Zite a terrible UI (page flip) and made it hard to find content related to your preferences, you would have flipboard.

The app works wonderful sometimes the stories dont stick together

I started using Flipboard a couple of years ago and still love it. I like its ease of use, the wide range of topics I can access, and saving favorite articles in the persona magazines I have created. Thanks for a great program.

It allows me to read headlines from across many different news outlets.

I love this magazine as a way to quickly check out top news stories, recipes, misc. or other topics I am interested in at the time. Needs far better customization. A way to personalize in a more specific way. The same story will be on about 15 times, same original story, but updated. Please remove older version. Another positively vital flaw is nudity. Please make a way to allow elimination of foul language in headlines, "F" word, and sexually explicit photos in the cover, or story header. Personally I am sick and tired of seeing Kim Kardashians body, on the "covers" of the magazines. Please allow the magazines to be searched for a topic or article you read, it will same hours of my life trying to find that fabulous photorealistic painting made out of dots . Or needing to search for the recipe that I forgot to save and while at Safeway cant remember the ingredients. Please allow cataloging or at least more specific genres tips select from.

I am impressed! The selection available is great. It allows you to make selections at the start and later based on your selections and reading it provides relevant suggestions. I would suggest to add a separate video only category base do your choices.

I love this app and I dont have to sort through content that Im not interested in.

Love it! Keeps me up to date on any topic and allows be to share. But the best feature is the personal magazines! I can create my own topical area and share with friends. Excellent!
